xgribbelfix: But even if so, why the hell is there even any of this gender "removal/expanding/whatever" talk? Just make your character completely male/female/whatever you want and be done with it. It won't affect you in any way after, except how NPCs will address you. Done.
It's a goddamn video game. We don't question it, when we play a dwarf, elf, or a dragon. Videogames are there to get into the world. And the world of Cyberpunk is and was always about transhumanism.
Just let people call themselves whatever they want. It's not your concern what they want to be.
How convenient to run with your idea of transhumanism. I guess all those fan-made stories I read, the various video games I played and the films I watched must have missed the point. We must go and tell them that cyberpunk is about gender relativisation/no gender/gender is a social construct nonsense, not about cyber technology.
The representative of CDPR who talked about this change in CP2077 indicated it was made according to a political ideology, not according to CP rules or ideas about the genre. So it's not about the game, but about promoting a political ideology in a game. People checking the social media of that person claimed there is confirmation for this as well.
We didn't start the talk about this, the CDPR representative did. So stop blaming and maligning anyone who responded to this and dares to have a different opinion than you do.
I was a happy camper until I read the above mentioned stuff. CP2077 was the only game I looked forward to in 2020. Now I am only waiting to see how many other political points will be pushed in the game.
