As always in games like shadowrun, satellite reign etc. I will probably play a completely boring, utterly 'normal' character ;) No cyberware, thank you very much, these metal spiky thingies scare the hell out of me. And a 'normal', 'sane' person is somehow much more beautiful.

No tattoes or ugly neon clothes either, that's just not up my alley. Probably just some nice, blue shirt and jeans - you know, in Night City, that'll be utterly 'special' and 'unheard of'. Maybe also some utterly boring, normal, brown hair and green eyes - something you don't see usually in the streets ;)

I will probably join the Nomads, because of family values. & because they seem to be the single halfway sane faction in the entire game ;)

Skills might focus on weapons, maybe also a bit science or medical if there is something like that.
Can't wait to play a normal, generic character either. I also can't wait until I get roasted for playing a generic character by the developers themselves *cough*Baldur's Gate 3*cough*
I'm playing with my GF and we try to play different characters and styles. She's going Nomad and I'm head diving into Corpo. Real hands on type while GF goes sneaky hacky.

Generic is your style then you'll be a perfect Entropist. "Necessity over style."
For me character creation screen in most games could not exist (we're talking here about the look only, not stats). I'll probably be playing with default V. Sorry CDPR, I know you put a lot of love to make the character customization screen full of options, but I don't want to waste time on such a thing. :) We'll probably rarely have an opportunity to see our character anyway.

I like your idea. If you do like that, you're really gonna stand out in Night City.

Haha, yes, playing such games with friends (And girlfriends) is fun. Much better than TV.

In my case, I already prepared a character using Cyberpunk Red but maybe depend of the options in-game I will change it.

I think BG3 should sell characters.
I always try to make "me" in RPG's where I have deep character customization.

And then I'll go deck myself out in all the snazzy gear and tech I would totally spend a fortune on if I was rich. lol

Something to keep in mind: there are missions that install cyberware on your character. i'm fair to middling certain that they are story missions. so you may not have a choice about the cybernetic eyes and weapon link. (I almost said smartlink. >.>)

You're forced to use optics at least.

Aaaaaah!

Maybe I'll just not play these missions ;)

But I think the 'immortalization' chip gets installed anyway, right? You get killed in the beginning and wake up afterwards.

Yeah there are three non-optional cyberware things. Possibly four. The eye augmentation, the smart link or whatever they put in your hand, and the imortality chip. The 4th one may be a dataport. They get intalled as part of the first or second story mission or something.

I always like to go against expectations of what the optimal character build has to look and play like, so yes, I'll try my hardest to create and play the most average-looking, boring-ass, uncool, as-little-augmented-as-possible (with all of the HUD elements like the minimap, objective markers and the other immersion-breaking bullshit deactivated), neutral "lone wolf" character.
Which should also make it more of a challenge on top of jumping into it on the highest difficulty available right away.

Nomad seems to be the best choice for this as well, since that's essentially playing as a "fish out of water" who doesn't know jack shit about city life and still has to learn the ropes.
