While I could have preordered from Amazon Prime (AU) for $AUD26 cheaper, or local retail for $AUD6 cheaper, I figured either way I'd be getting a GOG download code anyway (thought about PS4 or Xbox versions, but both consoles get accessed by our pre-teen boys and my PC has the best specs anyway so it's responsible parenting AND the best experience to stick with PC) and then trying to download from GOG at sh*tty Australian download speeds on release day, which realistically means at least a day or two before I could play.

I also figured I'd rather support a Polish studio like CDPR directly (handle 'czechs' out - fellow Slav), so have ended up cancelling the Amazon pre-order and buying direct from GOG.

I know internet speeds in Poland (and Czech, and most of Europe) + US make make release-day downloads of 70GB a 'non-issue', but for those of us stuck in 'backwards' countries like Australia (average national DL speed 16 mbps ... 50th on the world speed rankings), a 'preload' option would REALLY help us mitigate the sh*tshow that trying to download on the actual release day will cause :(

Please add a preload ?

We get a preload for this game.
The Witcher 3 release was 18th of may 2015 and access to preload was 12th of may.

When they do it the same way like The Witcher at that time, then we get the preload at 13th of november 2020.

Ano, ja doufam (Yes - I hope so)

This is another reason I bought from GOG / CDPR. Steam also do preload (apparently), but Steam have a really sh*tty refund policy that caught me out before (and Amazon + local retail offer no refund policy on software at all), where GOG do a REASONABLE 30 days.

Do I think I will LUUUURVE Cyberpunk 2077 ? YES. Been waiting 30 years since since 1990.

But all the same ... I HATE Fallout 4 (and that was 'hyped' to sh*t + still has fanboys by the mile) which I bought on PS4 retail.

Also can't REALLY play Watchdogs 2, but couldn't refund that on Steam (because apparently I played 2.25 hours with install time and BARELY getting to try it out after character creation + playing through the intro and first mission).

Fallout 4 has an 'RPG combat system' (albeit turn based ... works for Shadowrun but not Fallout based on my experience) somewhat akin to Cyberpunk, and the Watchdogs series has that whole 'hacker aesthetic' happening.

So it's REMOTELY possible Cyberpunk 2077 won't 'work' for me despite the 30 year wait, and high hopes I have for it.

So it's REALLY good to know GOG has a fair refund policy, just in case the worst scenario I can imagine will happen, and the game doesn't 'work out' for me for whatever weird reason.

I'm also hoping history repeats, and we get preload like they did for Witcher 3
