I beat the game, experienced the 'default' ending, and was left with the distinct feeling that the developers hate their players. God, they resent us. It wasn't enough that I pre-ordered the game as soon as it was available. That wasn't enough to prevent the active hatred the developers plainly feel towards me.

I don't know what I did. I loved the Witcher 3. Put hour upon hour into it. Bought over 200 games games from GOG. And it wasn't enough. I wasn't able to complete the Aldecaldos ending without hitting bug after bug after bug. I don't know what I did to CD Projekt Red's developers for them to push this out the door in its current state.

Whatever I did to you, I'm sorry. I'll try harder next time to be a more discerning consumer. I rooted for you as far back as the first Witcher. I really like the Witcher 2. Thanks for the abusive relationship, I guess.

You played Red Dead Redemption 2? Damn, that felt like a REAL world. There's a lot of companies in the sea (I'm waiting for 3 indie companies with real adult gaming experiences coming), make sure to check out some who actually still deliver.

It's not our fault definetly, we are investors giving our money on games, if a game company fails to provide the announced, we end up losing money.

I don't think they hate you or us or anyone else. There is a saying that everyone grows in their job to the level of their incompetence and looks like they hit this level here since CP2077 world (engine, graphics, esthetics) supposed to be nothing like any of the Witcher games (which means that engine was either heavily modified beyond any recognition or was written from scratch). Basically it is your typical software semifailure story: you set the bar very high, you have a huge ideas, you spend a time experimenting and researching all new cool things, then you are getting close to the first deadline with a whole bunch of Proof of Concepts and nothing as a whole, you are scrambling to get the stuff done, blow the deadline, get the extension to put something together out of all these nice thing you've been playing around with, blow another deadline with "99%" things done, get another extension, release buggy product to fulfil contract obligations, then spend a lot of time fixing bugs. Very similar "success" story you've probably seen with Mass Effect: Andromeda. Both games got some things right (ME:A was a huge improvement in gameplay, however story and world sucked beyond any belief and CP2077 got majority of story and missions really nice as well as the world design with the fantastic improvements over the magic from W3 to quickhacks that are very fun, however gunplay sucks) but riddled with the bugs on start (famous "tired face" in ME:A and T poses with cars raining from the sky in CP2077).

Some companies may make games that are good, but, they're out to make money. If they make games that make us keep coming back to make them more money is simply a bonus.
