Tracido: to do a real test
frogthroat: Ah. Makes sense now. I am one of those lucky ones who have not really experienced anything significantly game breaking (except the 1.1 download issues today) so I have not bothered with anything more that "still runs ok, good". But yeah, if you experience those constant fps drops or something, yes, it is an excellent idea to start with fresh vanilla and work your way up.
Tracido: I only have so much bandwidth and there were too damn many mods to remember.
frogthroat: That sucks. When the GOG website works again, perhaps you should download all the offline installers. After today's patch download issues I am planning on doing that. In the mean time you could download the zips for the mods. I usually keep backups of bigger mods and their prerequisite mods in their own folders, just in case. If you use a mod manager like Vortex, you can install mods from a zip file. If you don't use a mod manager... well, then you know how to install them manually.
Ugh, doing a pure install test with 1.1. Alright, they fixed some issues and broke others, well, why am I not surprised..
Yes, everyone now loads without bodies, as ghosts sitting in shadowed clothing for about 10-20 seconds, BUT also, the 20FPS drop has stopped, now it only happens when reloading without exiting the game entirely. my gawd..
I just think some might want to just go away for several patches and not come back until then or leave this game alone, and I can't blame a one of them.
