Does anyone know what the conditions are necessary for trees and mushrooms to regrow? Was anyone successfully able to regrow trees?

Edit: If anyone does figure it out, please let me know. I will be checking this post

Trees, mushrooms and fruits do grow back. But I don't remember how much time they'll take though. As far as I remember, fruits don't take too much and there's always a ton of them which is good for scouting, pregnant women and kids. I think trees take more than anything else to grow back up. Hope this helps.

In cultures 1, the tree's and mushrooms don't grow back. You get a limited number of them and you are meant to use those resources sparingly and wisely.

Even in cultures 2 and beyond a tree that is supposed to grow back can get stuck too, so it isn't always an assured thing that a tree will grow back. Mushrooms don't always grow back either.

I feel sorry that you had to wait over 2 years for this response though.
I have this problem in Cultures 1 - Markland. Suddenly needed 30 mushrooms for a secondary mission objective after the initial objectives were met. I have noticed on some earlier maps, the trees and mushrooms grew back faster. I do not think there were even 30 mushrooms on the whole map, and the natives grabbed up a bunch too. None of the trees are regrowing after several hours (just saplings and then stuck). No mushrooms regrowing for me on this map. They have been scarce on other maps, but usually regrew.

I may have to restart the entire campaign, hours wasted, due to this ill conceived or buggy "feature". :(

Can't you trade with the natives to get mushrooms?
Read a guide:
DESTROYING THE YELLOWKNIVES: If you destroy the yellowknives before the epidemic
you will fail the mission. If you destroy them AFTER the epidemic, you will
complete the mission, but they are well defended, so it's much easier to gather
the mushrooms to win.
So you are probably at mission 4 vineland now since that one requires 30 mushrooms

No, there is no such option, and if you think about it for half a second, you realize that would defeat the whole purpose of the objective.

What guide am I supposed to read? That doesn't make much sense that the objective is failed but the mission succeeds? The defenses are trivial. I already have troops and fortifications far in excess of what is needed with a proper strategy. I guess it is in keeping with the Eurocentric theme of genocide though. The only thing that matters is that all non-white cultures are exterminated, right? I thought this game might offer more. Oh well.

Vineland, correct. I said Markland by accident.

I didn't actually said read a guide to you, it's actually i read a guide, what i checked was the faq/walktrough here that said that certain part https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/374871-cultures/faqs/73021

So since the natives gathered mushrooms and you can't find anymore mushrooms to complete the mission peacefully you have to probably just wipe them out as a consequence for them having collected mushrooms before you and they doomed themselfs because of this yeah weird design choice. Meaning you can win the mission only with war now unless you restart and actually gather those mushrooms.
