Hi guys, just recently built my first pc from the ground, everything is running great, however, Crysis which is an old game, doesn't seem to run as I expected it. I get fps ranging from 100 to 30 in heavy firefights, I've read around and it seems its quite common yet I haven't found a solution, I can't manage to play the game at a stable 60 fps to say the least.

Specs are:
ASUS Strix 1070 GTC on stock speeds.
i5-6600.
16G of DDR4 Ram
500G SSD (where crysis is installed)
144htz 1080p Monitor

Desire would be to play the game at 1920 x 1080 at ultra at stable 144 FPS. Or 60 at least.

OTher than that, CPU temps never go above 45 celsius, and GPU temps never go over 61 Celsius.
I have installed the latest Nvidia Drivers.

Thanks for reading!
I've read the game is bottlenecked by the CPU. Even with a decent GPU this can be an issue for maintaining a consistent minimum 60fps.

Maybe your right, but the i5-6600 is quite a powerful processor. :( definitely playable, but kinda bothers me for a bit.

Anyone else got insight on this?

Thanks for your reply man.
do ya have nvidia inspector? try using that and cap your framerate to 60, force vsync on (off in game), the fps will still probably drop here and there, but may be a little smoother, works in my case at least.

I'm playing this game on max settings (without graphical mods like Crysis REALoaded, QualityMod, RELI2, etc).
The CPU is indeed the bottleneck and I'm using a AMD Phenom II X6 1100T.
I'm not very familiar with Intel but looking at which processors are the best atm I would say a i5 would be more than enough for Crysis.
