Hi,

Just wondering if this GOG version is any different from the other versions on Steam/Origin/Retail etc. Of course the main difference is removed DRM but does it include a x64 executable? Is it updated from 1.21?

In the trailer it says this PC version is remade from the console version. If it's true, then this might be a PC port of a visually downgraded console port. A port of a port.

I would like to know this as well. Currently, people are having to rely on risky user-uploaded 64bit executable packs on Steam to run the game on Win7 onwards.

Where does it say that? I can't find it on any of the pages.

The video you posted just shows a comparison of the old PC and Xbox versions, where the Xbox version had some remastered over-the-top lighting effects.

In GOG's linked video when you look at the game in the store it says, "re-made for console gaming" or something to that effect. Also, a whole lot of comments on steam suggests that the original game will not launch properly on Windows 8 and 10, unless you apply unofficial patches.

This GOG version might be the original, might not be - so I hope someone can clear that up.

They've just used the trailer for the console re-release of the game. I highly doubt they put a massive team on re-porting the game from the xbox 360 when they could just use the PC code.

GOG.com version seems to contain both the 64-bit .exe and sandbox editor from what I'm seeing in the folder. The game version in the menu is 1.1.1.6156 aka' 1.2.1.

That's true, there's a Bin64 folder in the game installation directory.

This is what I was interested in whether or not it contains the 64 bit exe. I mean I could copy my 64 exe from my disc install into the game folder but if it's already there, so much the better. If it does include the 64 bit exe it would be nice if they edited the store page to reflect that fact.

Remember to start the 64-bit version by running Crysis.exe in Bin64 folder, Crysis64.exe (note low file size) won't work.

My game runs great in x86, should I bother with x64 anyway?

uh... since when ? I never had problem with my Steam vanilla edition of Crysis 1

AFAIK (don't hold me to it :P) 32-bit applications most likely can't make use of more than 4 GB RAM.
