I'm stuck at the very end of the first mission. I've detonated the bomb and communicated with "wizard" who tells me to get to the teleport pad, but there's nowhere to go. The way I came is blocked by a forcefield, and I can't find any way to disable the force field blocking the way forward.

I've attached a picture to help you remember the place. The forcefield to my left is the one I need to pass to get to the teleport pad. To my right is where I came from, which is also a dead end now.

The left force field should have disabled after the bomb went off. Try reloading to a bit before you detonated the bomb and see if it works from there.

I had this issue before on the game back in the day, had to reload (can't remember if it was from the beginning or if a save game did the trick)....

Falci: The left force field should have disabled after the bomb went off. Try reloading to a bit before you detonated the bomb and see if it works from there.
I suspected as much. Unfortunately, my one and only save is inside the bomb room, after I detonated. Guess I'll just have to replay the whole darn thing. :/

Always keep a save at the beginning of a level (OK, there's no point in doing this on level one, but you get the point) and another one at the beginning of a section.

Believe it or not, I was thought this more than a decade ago by Crusader No Regret. I only realized I was playing a time based mission when there wasn't anymore time to complete it. And I could not go back to it's beginning to try to pass it. I gave up and returned the game to my friend who had lent it to me.
