I bought cossacks one day ago on gog. Surely i wanted to play it instantly , but when i wanna go for singe player , campaign or random map its just all frozen. I can use my mouse but cant move the screen . Main menu works , but only when i start game its all frozen beside my mouse . Pls help me guys.

Try running the game by using the dmcr.exe in root game folder. If nothing works, you can always send a ticket to GOG.

Took me a while to find this solution:

In my case this issue was related to a mouse setting. If you have a gamer mouse with different possible settings like DPI/Polling rate then you need to set the Polling Rate to 125Hz.

This issue seems to exist in several games on windows 8. They totally ruined mouse behavior in win 8.

hey, i use the pro-m8 mouse but i cannot find some user interface to change the polling rate to 125hz.

Any idea about how to fix that ?

i'm having the same "freeze problm" by the way when i start a game in cossacks

The solution:
Open NotePad and write this:

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
dmcr.exe
start explorer.exe

And save it as "Dmcr.bat" and in Type choose "All the files". Save this file in the main folder of the game.
To start the game, run this file that you just created.
