A lot of reviews seem to be rather critical of this game. YouTube videos on the other hand tend to be quite enthousiastic.

Supposedly it's a simple remake of Cossacks 1, just with updated graphics (as if that's necessarily a bad thing). DLC's are considered too expensive, and the game itself too pricey. Is it really such a bad deal though at € 9.99? How active is multiplayer for vanilla Cossacks 3? How does it compare to say Age of Empires HD? Would I be better off getting the anthology for Cossacks 1 and/or 2?

My biggest complaint is the lack of LAN multiplayer. Also, the game still lacks some content from the original game, such as 18th century ships. IMO, you should get Cossacks Anthology if you want to give Cossacks a try.
