Apparently fixed with the v1.1.5 (for Windows) and v1.1.51 (for Mac & Linux) updates in Dec 2015.

In the last post in the "Achievements don't save after closing game" thread, Vess07 reports still getting the problem after that patch, but it seems likely to be an isolated issue on his/her system, since the mass reports of progress loss have ceased on both GOG and Steam since the update.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm one way or the other from my own experience, because I'm just doing pre-purchase investigation. ^_^

Yeah, I just had several of my achievements removed, but others stayed. Imo still broken.

I can confirm this. Some in-game achievements don't unlock at all while others vanish mysteriously. What's worse is that if the achievement disappears, the correspondent unlock disappears too. So the whole motivating replay factor of the game (unlocking cars and MCVs) is non-existant.
What a shame. The game would be so good if this gamebreaker had been solved.
Could be it's only a win 10 thing, but who knows?

NVM im sorry, just rechecked again and it was just bitdefender acting up again. Sorry for the troubles.
