It sounds perfectly: the music and so on, but I couldn't play this game ever due to this isue, it's a blackout!
I've tried compatibility with win98 and 256 colors. It is in fullscreen by default.

Any tip or idea?
Does this problem happen only in full screen mode? Can you still play in windowed mode okay?

Sometimes I have this problem with games that run through DOSBox. In this case, editting the dosboxConstructor.conf file and changing "output=surface" to "output=overlay" should fix the problem.

Hi there!

First of all thank you for your fast reply! It won't work either on screen mode (black, simply black as hell!). I cant find that file you talk about ( dosboxConstructor.conf ) where is it?

Heya, have a look at the screenie attached to this post, I hope this helps you solve your problem. You are using windows 7 right (I know, I should have asked this first)? If you are using another OS, I might not be able to help but whenever I have the problem you mentioned, this is what I do.

First, open up your windows explorer to where you installed Constructor. As you can see in my screenie, it's installed under C:\GOG Games\Constructor. If you just accepted the default install path, yours will be the same. When you have done that, look for the file dosboxConstructor.conf, double click to open it and you'll see notepad open with the configuration details for Constructor. Look for the part that says output= in the file (mine is in the third black circle). What you might have there is output=surface, change that to output=overlay, save the changes and close notepad. Next time you run the game, it should work correctly.

Hope this works for you

Edit: You may have uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" in windows explorer first. There's a tutorial on how to do that here

Thanks a lot mate IwubCheeze!! But I must apologize too, I found that the game not running is MOB RULE, Constructor works perfectly. Maybe that's why I couldnt find the file you told me. Intriguing...
Ahhhh, so it was Mob Rule you were having trouble with. That's okay, I can still help as I had the same problem with that game too :P

What I did was follow the instructions on the tutorial posted in another thread to get Mob Rule working, I've attached the same file to this post so you don't have to go looking for it yourself ;). Do everything in that tutorial and Mob Rule should run fine.

Hope this is the solution to your problem :P
