So, for those of you who don't know there actually was a sequel to Constructor under two names, Mob Rule and Street Wars: Consutrctor Underworld.
It had a bit better graphics and UI than constructor, simply because it was made later, but still kept the same style and humour.
I was wondering if anybody else would be excited if GOG managed to get the sequel available for us to get. Lord knows I would be. Loved that game and it's upgradeable buildings. Much more shady version of Constructor all-in-all. :)
I've played Street Wars before the oirignal Constructor and always liked it more. Glad it's on GOG now.
I was about to write a short comment myself, but this part of a GameSpot review puts it better than I could:
There isn't even a skirmish mode for you to play against a computer opponent. These two significant oversights create the real possibility that you'll never experience the open-ended building and combat modes contained in the game and will merely play through its five puzzle levels and be done.
It's difficult to completely dismiss Mob Rule. The graphics are clean and clever, and the interface is almost perfectly suited to the completion of the tasks presented. It's the game itself that never really gels. In the end, Mob Rule is an underdocumented, incomplete near miss that manages to simultaneously drain the best elements out of both the empire-building and real-time-strategy genres.

I do own Mob Rule, and if you enjoyed Contructor for the actual construction, the humor and less for the NPC action, you won't even have a fraction of that fun in its sequel.

looks like you've got your wish ;)
:D
GOG answered my prayers. Well....my hopes anyway.
INSTANT BUY!
And that's not true Deiwos, you can have just as much fun with Mob Rule as you did with Constructor. You just need to keep in mind it's a completely different flavour.

That's just my point.
For fans of the original game, Street Wars was a huge disappointment, because it lacked everything that made Constructor the unique jewel it still is.
If you started with Constructor and then played Street Wars, you expected a simulation game with funny details and all you got was a mock-RTS with SimCity-esque elements.
If you started with Street Wars and then played Constructor, you expected an action-oriented light strategy game with simulation elements and all you got was an overly complex building sim with a horrible interface.
Either way, you won't be happy. Fans of the original won't like the sequel and vice versa; it's a rare find to have someone who actually enjoys both games equally.

true mob rule is a silent killer its great in the first cities then the missions get worse and very difficult and of course you have to do what the godfather says so its very hard to follow up once i had to quit Dead Dog Ditch because i ran out of tenants for the properties i was busy fighting :(

Kinda hard to be rare when you're talking with one who is and knows about 3 dozen people who are as well. :)
You have to remember one thing; they are different games. Mob Rule isn't Constructor 2. It's a game with a completely different theme and take using the same system and style. But saying that people WILL NOT like the other is very narrow minded. They share enough similarities that you CAN like both for different reasons.
It's the same reason why people decide sequel A is better than all the others. Final Fantasy comes to mind. Same game, same series, and each one is uniquely different from the others but you still know what you're getting into.

To be honest, I wasn't aware that Constructor had a sequel....thank you gog!
I like both (and still have the original CD to Constructor) but what RakeeshSorrel says is right: They're two different games.
Luckily, they're not mutually exclusive.
