I own the retail version of "Conquest: Future Wars" and bought the game again on GOG.com. As far as I know the latest patch for the game is 1.07, while the GOG.com version appears to be 1.05 (if you click "About" in the main menu).

Why is this? Can anyone from GOG.com confirm which game version we have got here?

It depends on in which place you looked. If you right-click on the executable and go to Properties>Details then it should show the correct version under File Version. If, however, you found the file version by trying to play a multiplayer game the version will be displayed as 1.05 regardless of whether you have 1.05 or 1.07.
