I have a question concerning Mission 8 'Saving Private Smith' - If you remember how it's bonus mission look like, it's pretty an expansion of the normal mission except that it's stop the invasion. Normally when you complete a bonus mission, you get a star, but for this particular one a star was never awarded - not once I tried to play it.

So tell me, does the version available on Gog.com have this glitch repaired?

I got the star once five or six years ago after playing it DOZENS and DOZENS of times unfortunately I forgot HOW I did it. I was with you for a long time but as far as I know it is akin to the elephant in the "Bridge" mission. In order to complete EVERY secondary objective you had to ride the elephant across the river but the elephant didn't work and it seemed to be a game flaw, but it wasn't actually a flaw just a quirk; you had to do something EXACTLY a certain way to pull it off. Both of these were the same in this regard.

Don't remember what I did but I did find a patch that is supposed to make it easier by removing the quirk.

I never used it, I was posting the link for you to try it. I've already played that mission a few million too many times. :D Rooting out all those land mines is SUCH a pain in the ass I think I'll pass.
