I can't run "Behind Enemy Lines". After the opening videos, it simply crashes to desktop. This also occurs if I try to skip the videos by pressing ESC, or if I try running in compatibility mode. I do not have this problem with the expansion, "Beyond The Call of Duty".
I am on Win XP.
Any ideas on how to fix this? :S

This question / problem has been solved by Resilimage
You could try fiddling with sound hardware acceleration. This can be done from the start menu, then run and type dxdiag and hit enter. Then go to the sound tab and change the hardware accelertation slider.
If this doesn't solve it could you please post your system specs?
Sorry, that didn't work. :(
I am on a Lenovo ThinkPad T500
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8400 @ 2.26GHz

What screen resolution is that running at?
1650x1050. It actually works when I change the resolution to 1024x768 (I probably should have tried that before posting). However, Alt+tabbing will crash the application, as will trying to change the resolution from IG.
Try setting the resolution to 1042x768 and seeing if the game will run like that.
You could also disable your graphics card and run on the intergrated to see if your ATI card is the problem. You can do this by right clicking my computer, then go to properties, then the hardware tab. Click device manager, click the plus near display adapters then right click on your ATI card and select disable. You can turn it back on if this doesn't solve the problem.
Yup, as I said, the game does work in 1024x768, but it will crash when I try to change the resolution in the game, or when Alt+Tab'ing out. It will not work in any resolutions higher than 1024x768, regardless of the aspect ratio. I guess the problem is partly solved, although it would be nice to tab out and not change the resolution every time I wish to play. Maybe I could run it in windowed mode?
I tried disabling the ATI card, but then the game will not run at all. It claims Direct X 5 is not installed. I will try messing with it some more after supper.
On a slightly related note, shouldn't I be able to see the Intel card under the gfx card node? Or will it not appear, when it is integrated?
Don't worry about disabling your graphics card I only wanted you to try that if you couldn't get it to run at the lower resolution just to confirm or eleminate it. As for windowed mode I don't think its possible with this game you could try the -w after the target line in the shortcut properties trick but I honestly don't think it will work.
Also not sure if you would beable to see a intergrated chip or not, never had one myself. Is the drivers for it up to to date though?
There is temporary fix here for this problem - http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=91001 look here - i hope it will help you :) And please stay with this problem in one topic.
Thank you Resil. It indeed allows me to run it windowed mode. The optimal solution would be to actually make it work in full screen, but I guess you can't win every time.
I'd also like to say that I think Ralackk was very helpful, and gave very thorough and easy-to-understand advice. Thank you.

Didn't work for me, but I have this instaled on my wife's older rig.
Resil you said it's a temporary solution. Is someone from GoG working on it to fix the problem permanently?
OK, maybe I'm just stupid. I used this program and the game opens in windowed mode. When i try to maximize the window it stays the same size as before. It's bit uncomfortable to play this way. Can someone help please?

Want a solution as well, please.
Summit:
You can change the resolution in the launcher. It will still be windowed, but at least larger. The read-me states that it has problems when maximising.
How is this solved? A 3rd party's hack doesn't count as a solution to me. I really don't want to play this game in a windowed mode or change my resolution every time I play it.
I agree, GOG shall prepare a working solution.
