Nice to have a pack with the Apogee-published games on it, though it still boggles the mind that it took this long!

Still, the omission of Keen Dreams and Aliens Ate my Babysitter seems to be a bit of an oddity. Perhaps the latter isn't seen as being worth much, as it wasn't chiefly developed by id, but you'd think Keen Dreams would be included. Any idea what happened with these two?

This, especially considering the artwork on the front page for the Keen pack is literally from the box art for Aliens Ate My Babysitter.
Dreams and 6 were both developed entirely by id. The problem is that the rights to distribute them are owned by different companies.

Dreams belongs to some person who held a kickstarter to buy the rights. They graciously released the source code, but fumbled the Steam release by insulting customers and generally being toxic. It's delisted now, but you can download builds of the open source version and play it for free. There's also a Switch port on the eShop that was developed by someone else.

I believe 6 belongs to Atari right now through a series of company acquisitions, but they've never even slightly mentioned the game. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this one to get released digitally.

It's possible id will buy the rights back to both games some day, especially now that they're owned by Microsoft and that this release shows some spark of interest somewhere in the organization.

EDIT: I should mention that there were actually 2 Switch ports of Dreams and neither are great. Nor is the "Definitive Edition" for PC you might find floating around. If you want to play Keen Dreams again, I'd suggest downloading the shareware version 1.20 (it's the full game) and running it in DOSBox.

EDIT 2: I posted a zip file that lets you add Dreams and the demo for 6 to the GOG release if you'd like to use it to play those games.

Why was Keen Dreams delisted from Steam? And was it ever available on GoG?
