Hi there,

I'm playing episode 1 but have a problem. After I was in the antique shop for the first time Erica drove home. Now I see the map with locations. Erica sad she has to return to her boss but nothing is moving. I can't see my cursor, the music is still running, I can't choose a location and I can't open the menue but the window mode don't show me a fault. Restart isn't helping. I have the problem again.

Any help?

Edit: Seems like the problem only exists in the window mode.

Did going full screen help?

Yes, it helped. I don't know if the map generally has problems in window mode.
I had the exact same problem, at the exact same time (after the antique shop) in full-screen mode, so it's not just a windowed problem. I was able to load an earlier save and made it past that point on the second try though.
I am also stuck in episode one, but it's after I talked to Mr. Goodman and appeared in the FBIs Main Room. The music and sound continues for me, but Erica can't move and I can barely move the pointer. Im gonna continue to try to find a solution though.

I am clueless but administrators at Phoenix Online are very active and might help you faster if you post there.

Or we can agree over PM that you send me save files and I try to progress a bit (temp solution). By the way, welcome on forum :).

Following the link Mivas provided, I browsed their forum and unearthed this piece of advice: to avoid the antique shop lock, after making the final dialogue selection (either "explain" or "walk out") move the cursor to the lower left corner and leave it there until after the cutscene and sfx. This worked for me. The admin on that site was also blathering about video drivers a lot, but it didn't seem to be effectively fixing the problem.

Thanks! It worked for me too (or maybe it was blind luck and the game just happened to work when I tried your method. Dunno.)
Thanks anyway, man :)

I have the same problem and the cursor fix didn't work for me... maybe I'll just move on to Episode 2...

Have you moved on to EP2? If you post your save file before the problem appears, I can try to test it and save it a bit later.
I had the same problem. Tried various things for over 2 hours and nothing helped. In the end I took the savefiles to my parents' PC, installed the game there and it worked. That got me thinking :)

If you're stuck too try running the game in 4:3 ratio resolution, for example 1280x1024. The game will use only middle part of the screen for graphics, with black bars on top and bottom. It's not completly wasted space as speech windows and sense button will use bottom part and menus the top one. The important thing is to move the cursor into one of the black bars once you've selected the last dialouge option and leave it there (I picked the bottom one). Now it works as it should, both windowed and fullscreen, the cursor will show up to select destination.
