I have exactly the same problem. Hope someone has a fix
Hi guys,

I had same problem as you with that error when starting game. To remove, it, you need uninstall game, reinstall it, and then, THEN you can change anything within game graphics settings (I do believe there is problem), EXCEPT monitor refresh rate (I was changing game resolution or texture filtering from trilinear to anisotropic etc.). You can change ANY graphics settings there, but DO NOT touch that refresh rate, leave it on default, do not set it to Hertz, as I was doing it to 60 Hz (which is default for my notebook). Now, game runs for me perfectly, I am on Win 10 Home 64 bit. Give it shot.

P.S.: Its bad that nobody from GOG doesn't seem to care about game problems anymore here, similar with FC2 and they mess whole game, its not starting using galaxy client after their last ''update''...

Cheers,

You don't have to deinstall and reinstall the game.
Just go to the install directory and open options.ini file.
Remove the Hertz setting (in my example 70) and save the file.
Should look like:
FullScreenRefreshRate = ;

After that your game should restart properly.
Hint: you also can change other settings in this file. ;-)
