Well, I saw this game on GOG and bought it immediately and already I am having problems even getting this game to run. For some reason every time I try to launch the game I get the same problem every single time.

Solidshield
Module Init Error.

I have tried using the exe created on my desktop, I have tried the launcher.exe and the same problem occurs each and every time. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Many other users reporting the same problem here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/chronicles_of_riddick_the/tages_drm/page1
and here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/chronicles_of_riddick_the/installation_error

Hopefully GOG takes notice and works with Atari on a fix.

Is that what they are talking about? Because I saw no mention of the specific problem I am having in those posts aka the error that pops up everytime I launch the game.

With the other posts, the "Module Init error" occurs because their anti-virus programs flagged Riddick's dvm.dll file and automatically removed or quarantined it. So when the game looks for that file on launching and doesn't see it, it gives the error.

Can you do a search in your Riddick game directory and see if the dvm.dll file is still there? If it is, scan the file with your anti-virus program and let me know if it comes back dirty.

Aha Thankyou. I did as you asked, and the dvm.dll file is still in the Win32_x86 folder in the system directory. I scanned it with my antivirus and nothing showed up as suspicious. Not even a false positive came up.

Hmmm... In that case, I think it could just be that the game did not get properly stripped of the TAGES DRM before it was released (what antivirus program are you using?).

I would put in a support ticket with GOG if you haven't already. I am downloading my own copy of the game now to see if I get the same error. Sorry I couldn't be of more help at the moment.

Currently using Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012. I guess I will have to considering I tried it with the launcher in the same folder as the dvm.dll and it worked first time, but tried it again now and it refuses to work.
Having this exact issue as well after buying it last night. No AV's scanning it showing anything wrong. Just deleted the game and directory, going to try a fresh new download and install and hopefully not have this problem again.
Same here. No more purchases at gog.com for me until its resolved. Unsettling they let this go on the market with this problem.
Another year and the problem still occurs.Bought game in pick 5 promo few days ago and as you guys i cannot even play it.Im going to ask the support on what to do and hopefully i will get an answer.
