How many of you knew who Gro- I mean, Vin Diesel was before playing the Riddick games?
How many of you knew about the movies before playing the games?

I didn't know anything about anything before playing the games, and now I love the franchise.
I remember watching Pitch Black, hadn't heard anything about it at the time so I didn't have any expectations and was expecting some low budget movie but really enjoyed it. It's not just that I didn't have any expectations for it, it wasn't perfect but still very enjoyable.

On another note, Vin Diesel is probably the biggest Riddick fan out there. It's all very hazy but I vaguely remember some interesting things, like him doing a role in a Fast and the Furious movie and instead of getting pay he wanted and got the rights to Riddick. There's also an animated Riddick movie voiced by him.

Also he had a hand in the Chronicles of Riddick game beyond just voice acting and is the founder of Tigon Studios, I remember there being something a while ago about him getting the Starbreeze guys to work on a new Riddick game but I'm not sure if that's still happening as I don't remember anything beyond that, though it wouldn't be by Starbreeze Studios. Which reminds me of a little factoid, that the Starbreeze guys got a touch of help from John Carmack when making the engine for Chronicles of Riddick.

Though take it with a pinch of salt, it's all hazy as I said and I'm up to late and to tired to be held accountable for what I type right now.
I saw Pitch Black, it's an awesome film. Man there should be a game inspired by the concept of pitch black, prisoner escaping from space cops on a desert planet or whatever..
I was interested in the game when it was originally released back on the Xbox, but I just never picked it up. I saw Pitch Black a few years ago, really enjoyed it. Then I played through Butcher Bay this summer. Which made me watch Chronicles of Riddick, but I didn't like that at all.

I've never watched any of the Riddick films - and probably won't ever do! =X

On the acting front - I remember him getting shot in Saving Private Ryan and that's about it.

That aside - Butcher Bay was really quite good for the most part - looked gorgeous when it was released.

Melee fighting & stealth were a strong point; gun accuracy and shooting in general weren't great.

Jumping into the mech suit near the end was good though.

Dark Athena seemed to run out of steam early on. It's mostly recycled gameplay and I get the feeling they weren't too bothered about making it frankly.
Prety sure I have watched Iron Giant or hear my dad rave on how he likes Fast and Furious before I have heard of Vin Deisels Pitch Dark series (THAT'S WHAT THE ORIGINAL WAS CALLED, to be honest it's 2, now 3 movies...)

And I only heard of the cronicles of riddick because Kitty0706 made a gmod source parady of Atari, Starbreeze, and Vin Diesel in Kitty0706's The Cronicles of DICK: ASSULT ON HUMANITY.

Have you guys heard that John Bain (Total Buiscut AKA The Cynical Brit) has got cancer again.. SHIT.

Don't make the lukaemia thing happen 3 times by having HIM DIE TOO.. :(

Might as well say that this thread is years old and doesn't need resurecting
