It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I did an update from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 20.04 and now when I start the game I get a black screen.
At the beginning I can see a white background (where the BitKid logo should show up) and then it fades to black.
I can hear the music and the menu sound when I press cursor up / down.

Also if I change the option

Fullscreen=0

It's still in fullscreen mode not windowed.
It was working perfectly in Ubuntu 18.04, I also tried a complete re-install of Ubuntu 20.04 but no luck...

Other GOG games work, the only other exception is Owlboy from D-Pad Studio where gfx is also not working.

Any ideas ? Thanks!
Hi, sorry to hear about the trouble! It sounds like this is almost certainly a driver issue with the new update. I will check with the FNA framework developers though and see if they have any clue for a fix.

Thanks for the quick response, hopefully it's an easy fix.
There appears to be a bug with the latest graphics drivers and certain graphics chips (Intel specifically). Mesa bug has submitted here:

Same issue. Thinkpad X1 Carbon 3rd gen, just ugraded to Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

EDIT: workaround, per https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3431

I added

export FNA3D_FORCE_DRIVER=Vulkan

just under # Initialization in Chasm/start.sh and it works now. apparently there's a couple others you might try

For end users: A few fixes that will probably work:

For FNA pre-20.09, FNA_OPENGL_FORCE_ES3=1
Post-20.09, FNA3D_OPENGL_FORCE_ES3=1 or FNA3D_FORCE_DRIVER=Vulkan
