I got this game, but I can't play it since it crashes when I try to start it. Even as an administrator.

My computer runs on Windows 7 (32-bit). I'm not sure what else could cause the game to crash.

Thanks in advance.

Try different graphics settings/OpenGL and whatnot. I don't remember if there is a setup utility.
Also, try looking here - http://www.gog.com/forum/chaser/running_under_windows_7_crashes

There is no setup utility.

And I tried some compatibility modes, but it still doesn't work.

When all else fails, email support. There should be an INI file somewhere though, make a backup before changing it.

I'll email them, then.

I checked and there's no ini file either. Maybe it's because I've yet to run the game (which is my problem in the first place).
OK. I now have another problem. I can't email the support team. When I click on Continue (after choosing a question about support, I'm back at the support page, which doesn't contain any information I need. How should I contact them?

I would check and see if my version of the game has an INI but that computer is not with me. Also, try forcing settings from your video card. Like forcing anti-aliasing and whatnot.

Not ini, but cfg - "<path-to-game>\Save\Users\default.cfg"

OK. I found it, but I wonder what settings I should meddle with (since there are so many of them).
I have Win7 / 64bit and this game works normally. I work with a level editor that works without problems. Problem will be somewhere on your PC...

What are the specifications of your PC?
OK. Time to resurrect this dead thread because the game is really getting on my nerves.

For your information, my computer specs are:

CPU: Pentium Dual-Core E5200 2.50 GHz
RAM: 4GB
OS: Windows 7 32-bit
Graphic card: AMD Radeon HD 6800

I tried running as administrator, running without the visual effects and with Windows XP SP3 compatibility. Nothing works. I'm getting desperate.

The startup logos could be causing the issue; try deleting (or renaming/moving) the files in the Data\Logos sub-folder inside the game installation folder.

It actually worked! Moving the logo files away made the game work!

Was there a problem with the video files? Should I update my codecs?

It probably is something related to the old video codec used for the logos. Consider, however, that those files only contain the initial logos about the companies/copyrights; not having them will simply speed up the game startup time (no other in-game content is removed since the story videos are in a different folder and use the in-game engine format). So, you can safely forget about the issue and, finally, enjoy the game ;).
