Will the next two parts be dlc/patches of thebase game or each "episode" will need to be purchased separately ?
As reduced price's addon for base thing maybe ? Or each part same price as first ?
Given the length and depth of the base game compared to its price, I fear i would rather invest next two parts price (even at discount) in more "solid" games "oldies or indies.
Given the admitedly low price for the actual game (12€ roughly, 9€ on discount), i can understand it would be unreasonnable to expect the full 3 part games...
But on the other hand, such price for just a (indeed nicely drawn and told) classic jRPG with such that short story, a cliffhanger and weak gameplay mechanics does not much make me feel like spending or adding twice same amount again for the complete thing.
I wont be unfair toward the dev team to put this in balance with obscene AAA steam discounted games, yet either on gog or humble, i can without difficulty fill a cart with 24€ of old or indie games that could be chewn for longer yet as great time. Gee, i could get full life is strange 5 episodes for 15 bucks (launch preorder offer, means 1st ep and season pass bundled). Why such exemple ? Storytelling, mature/moral dilemna, choices carrying consequences through game, basic gameplay, replay value... Same stuff that celestian tales claims or offer... Yet i could enjoy chewing it for more than 40 hours, and have still few hours more to go; not to mention last 5th ep to come.
Sorry if i sound harsh or unfair, yet i do not ask ekuator games to compete on tech and visual, just on story, gameplay, replay value and length (gaming raw material that does not depend on big buck dev studio capability)
I support indies, but sorry for being an OLD and exigeant gamer.
Consider it from a gamer's pov: 3x12@ falls very short to price for base editions of pillar of eternity, or divinity original sin. Or for xulima + wasteland 2 (non deluxe). and if digging for oldies, this leads to neverwinter nights series.
