I bought this game the day it was released 100 years ago and I think it's time to give it another go but...

Will it work with my Logitech rumblepad? (minor issue, I'm okay with the keyboard)
I see a few post regarding bad FPS; is this a common issue or just an anomoly for the occasional user?
I promise I read the other post but please assure me this is the original uncensored version. If I wanted to run over zombies I get in my real car and drive it into a shopping mall.

Thanks!

Well, for the joypad I would guess you could use something like Joy2Key if DOSBox and the game won't read it natively. That way you can map the keyboard controls to your joypad. Not ideal but it should work (though I've not tried it as I find the keyboard works fine for Carmageddon.

As for the framerate, I think that is more dependent on your machine and how you have your DOSBox set up. I've played through the first 20% of the game and I've had no problems with framerate. That was running it with nGlide 1.0 though (which isn't provided in the GOG 1.0 installer as it uses an older nGlide - hopefully when they release the 2.0 installer it will be updated to the latest nGlide) but I can't remember whether I was using 1024x768 or 1280x960.

And lastly, yes it is fully uncensored (but you can put zombies/robots back into the Splat Pack if you really want to).

I went ahead and bought it a short time ago. That game had such an impact on me I figured I could deal with any shortcomings that come along and it would still be worth it. I wasn't going to worry about a wrapper but I do have a glide here that is suppose to work Carma so I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
You can also use the Win95 patch for Carmageddon as I used it on a netbook and it played quite well with only some minor stuttering. I have an extra keyboard that I used to play the game since netbooks don't come with a numpad :D.

Well, the GOG 1.0 installer for Carmageddon Max Pack comes with nGlide 0.99. It works, but you can't change the settings of it.

If you want to use nGlide 1.0, download it from the official site, and then either replace the glide2x.dll and glide2x.ovl files with the new ones in nGlide 1.0, or put the new glide dlls inside your System32 folder and delete the ones provided in the GOG installation. Now when the game runs in 3DFX mode it should use the new glide dll files for nGlide 1.0.

You can change the settings for nGlide 1.0 using the provided executable (vsync, resolution, screen aspect ratio, etc). It saves the settings in the registry so it applies to all 3DFX games that use the nGlide 1.0 glide dll files.

Any idea when we might get Carmageddon Max Pack GOG installer version 2.0? And will it be repackaged with the latest nGlide?

I got her up and running great, thanks everyone. I screwed up and didn't make the thread a question so I'm going to go ahead and +1 everyone who replied. It's not the prestige of "SOLVED" but it's the best I can do, and I really do appreciate evryone's help.
Thanks to this post and the reference to the Windows 95 patch above, it is now running great on my netbook. Maybe the experimental patch should be made official now... ;)
