Hi, do you suggest to begin this intriguing series starting with the second chapter or the first one?
Is C2 more refined and easily approachable than the first one?
(PS: I have a degree in Economics of International Market, so I have a little knowledge of the matter ;-))

Cap 1 is a more well rounded and satisfying game overall; however I truly did enjoy Cap 2 where others did not. The interface is different from one to the other and I have no troubles using either one. I have never been the greatest at either as I am a casual player, but I would say you cannot go wrong by buying Cap 1 first and if you like it then go for Cap 2 later if you like.
Others can give greater detail on the games, (as I say I am a casual gamer), but I am certain that Cap 1 will come out the winner for most people.

1)The main difference lies between the perspectives the games give you.
-In CapPlus, the emphasis is more on an "overview" level. This means you have a map with a number of cities where you can place your retail buildings and a huge area of land between them to build farms, mines etc. on.
-In Cap 2, you see the world more in detail. There is only city view, but cities also contain "outside" areas. This means you can actually see people goind around the city, which is a nice, if only cosmetic, touch.
Also, in Cap 2, you have more specialized buildings to sell products in, such as supermarkets, apparel stores, computer stores etc.
2)Cap Plus has a number of scenarios and a free game with three sets of products. Cap 2 also has scenarios and a free mode, but it only has one set of goods, so Cap Plus has more diversity in this aspect.
3)Both games have a really good level of detail regarding info about your products, competition, production chains and such. You, having a degree you have, may still find it a bit shallow compared to real-lifedata sheets, but it sure is much more than most games offer.
As a conclusion, if I were you, I'd decide which perspective appeals to me more, and go with that (first).

what do you mean one set of products? Like you can only sale cars?

second

Why is the file for Capitalism Plus BIGGER than file for Cap2?

109MB compared to 81MB

In Cap+, you have three "sets" to choose from before starting a game: standard products, which means many different products; alternative products, which contains an other array of wildly different products; and food&beverage, where you can only produce food, but an amazing variety of it, from bacon to TV dinners to frozen pizzas etc.).
The sizes of the files also confuse me, but I guess it has to do something with Cap Plus' larger (and probably not-so-well-compressed) map files and ground textures, and its more numerous product icons.
Capitalism plus is much better. But the version on GOG is not running 100 %. The "manufacturing" is does not work on some goods... Have someone the same problem?
