This is mostly just an excuse to post here first.
Oh well - Cannon Fodder is incredible, in fact even my MOTHER likes it. It's quirky, fun and cute. But it's WAAAARR!!!!
Now let's see if anyone can complete it with all 360 troops...
Its definitely worth the title of the thread.
I think I managed to finish it on the amiga whilst losing less than 10 troops, I seem to recall I had a platoon of generals tromping around the battlefield and remarking at the time that it was a trifle unrealistic. Then I looked at the game I was playing, laughed and said "and its awesome"
Does the opening cutscene get all flickery for you?
I never managed it on the Amiga without losing at least one troop, but I did make it all the way with Jools and Jops!
Can't wait to try it again tonight now that I have mad trackball skills :D
I play it long ago as abandonware, but there was issue with game speed. Now, with good version, I can play ;]
haven't played this in years. looking forward to seeing if it's as good as i recall.
I'm trying to resist the urge to get this game, and I will probably be unsuccessful, since I remember how awesome this game was. BTW, does rank have an effect on your soldier's performance, is it just there to look nice?

I get flickery opening video, and occasional problems with the music.
I have had the music problem before when running things in dosbox, running higher cycles helps a little, but it never goes away. Sounds a bit like popping or like a skipping record.

The rank does have an effect on how fast that particular soldiers gun will fire. Higher the rank, faster rate of fire. That's why it's a good idea to protect your higher rankers (Jools, Jops, RJ, etc), split you team and maybe send in the new recruits if it looks like it could be a killzone.

How the hell did you manage to do that? Perhaps I'm just utterly crap at this game, but besides that, impressive. I have a flickery cutscene too, but I think its because I have an Nvida card, as my friend as an ATI and has no flicker.
I was teh 1337 at the time, fortunately I've since learned to read. I played the game obssessively & pretty much restarted any time I lost a soldier

I wish I had more time to read, let alone get teh 1337 at something.
I'm looking forward to purchasing this game - I can't now (at the time of this post) but it's definately one of those rare games that you must own.
This was definately a surprise add and I was very excited to see it appear on the list.
Well done GOG!

I've got the flickering intro video too. No problems with the music (other than it sucks, compared to the Amiga version), but the in-game shot sample occasionally triggers for no discernible reason, even though my guys aren't firing, and no enemy soldiers are anywhere near me.

Better get your troops to the company psych, it sounds like they have battle fatigue

I have an ATI and the flicker. No sound problems though.
