Are the Greek and Egyptian entries in this series available anywhere online? I prefer not to torrent -- I'm surprised that Caesar is on GOG but they aren't.
Pharaoh as a standalone is unlikely to be on GOG because it works just fine on any version of Windows. The only reason I'd see Pharaoh on here is if it was Pharaoh Gold (aka Pharaoh and the Cleopatra Expansion as one package)

Zeus and Poseidon are pretty old and I certainly don't know much about those games. Not sure if it's a classic a lot of people would play.
I haven't seen them anywhere, I'm afraid.

? Not sure why that would stop them. A game doesn't have to have fallen out of compatibility for GOG to take it on. :)

I'd rather play just about any of the post-Caesar 3 sequels than C3 itself, frankly. C3 is a good game, but it was the first of a series of a certain style of city-builders that continued in Pharaoh and Zeus and ended with Emperor. Caesar 3 has hitches and niggles (no official/proper roadblock, road-disrupting granaries) that were fixed in Pharaoh and especially in Pharaoh's successors.

IMO, Pharaoh is a better game if you're looking for high complexity C3-type game, and Zeus is a better game if you're looking for lower-complexity, more relaxing style. (Haven't played Emperor - would be interested in going back to it on GOG.)

i've just bought all the Sierra/Impressions historical city builders (incl. Caesar III and IV) as physical copies off UK sellers on Ebay. granted, GoG copies would have been cheaper and slightly more convenient, but apart from C3 none of them are on GoG, and there's no word whether any of them are coming.

all the demos work fine on W7x64, so i expect the games to work flawlessly as well. C4 certainly does.

i just wish GoG would announce beforehand what games they are actively working on getting and which ones we should not expect anytime soon.
Zeus was such a great game, it would be great to see it on GOG.
Zeus was awesome. Glad I still have the disks. Would totally re-buy it on gog if I could though. Also Zeus still works fine on win7 x64.
Emperor: Rise of teh Middle Kingdom is the best. Between the music, graphics, and functionality, they nailed it with this one.

*loads pharoah* *games crashes*
no it doesn't. I have win 7 and cannot play it for long without it crashing. but then again I have the expansion, and no way around it.

if you got Cleopatra it might not work, after you install it. I know it doesn't on my computer.

The Cleopatra Expansion is incompatible with Windows 7, but Pharaoh on it's own with just the Enhancement Pack Patch does. I would be fine with GOG just releasing the Pharaoh Gold edition (Pharaoh + Cleopatra in one download) but not just Pharaoh on its own.

That can be fixed by running it in compatibillity mode with Windows 2000.

Or was that only in Vista?

I've tried multiple different compatibility modes and can't get it to stop crashing.

I think that was just pure luck because it doesn't matter on what compatibility mode you use: Cleopatra crashes near constantly in Windows 7 and most likely Vista.

Actually, I remember Vista ran Cleopatra extremely well.
Win 7 on ther other hand... (which is strange as Win 7 is usually better at running older games).
