Even though they're based in Europe GOG don't release games until Pacific time for some stupid reason and even then they take ages. It's just shoddy.
So any ETA?
Nearly 8pm here right now. Still no release. Won't be buying games for day of release anymore from GOG.
The 31st January release date is only an approximation.
On the Revolution web site, they provide a release date of "Q1 2014", so technically we could be waiting another two months yet...
As far I know the release has been pushed back to feb-march.
Call me crazy, selfish, whatever, but if the release has been pushed back, shouldn't GOG notify all the purchasers and change the 'approximation' date on the games page?
At the moment the official word from the people we bought it from is still Jan 31. Approximately or not, that is when we start lining up to collect as that is the date they've got published.
GOG has removed the "soon" label from the game box on the virtual shelf, but the links to download it are missing. You can only download the extra content. I hope that's a sign that the game installer will appear on the page within a few hours. I was really looking to playing Broken Sword this weekend.

Not very probable, considering that the voice recordings for episode 2 will take place middle of February :-P
I guess GoG are in the hands of Revolution. No news on their site at all. I also read somewhere that it's likely to be several more weeks. I realise post production takes time but please, all game developers, just be honest as to when release dates are likely. Clearly there were quite a few of us waiting for this yesterday and now it looks like we have to carry on waiting for another month with precious little info.

Voice recordings in February, game released several weeks after. I.e. March. Fuck that.
Well then, GOG should at least update its virtual game box to indicate that the second part won't be available for at least another month. I'm disappointed – when I preordered the game, I was under the impression that Part 2 would follow very soon after Part 1.
I don't think we can really blame on GOG about this. GOG works based on information which Revolution has shared with them. I visited Revolution's website and forum today. They have sneakily replaced release date information in the main page. Earlier it said January 2014 and now it says Q1 2014.

There are also no threads or posts by developer about the delay in Revolution's Broken Sword 5 forum.

While I like their games and pre-ordered this one, I think that Revolution's PR people have really dropped the ball here.

Fair point.

I understand that, but the gamecard here on GOG is a bit misleading. Earlier it said "soon" and "January 31st), now the "soon" tag has been removed, and the release date has disappeared. I actually kept visiting the site yesterday to see whether they've put up the link, then I saw the release about the game being delayed here. They should put the words "Q1 2014" there so as not to confuse people who have purchased the game.
