groze: Christ on a cracker! I've been avoiding adding to this discussion, but now it's getting really annoying... why are people falling this hard on GOG?! It's not like it's their fault... I pre-ordered the game and the first part was available here on GOG as soon as Revolution released it everywhere else. Every single patch the game has gotten was made readily available on GOG at the same time as on Steam or wherever the game is being sold. Revolution Software has gone as far as having representatives here on the GOG forums addressing people's issues and complaints... so, again, why all the hatred?!
The game got delayed. Maybe Revolution doesn't want to release it as buggy and glitchy as they did with the first episode, it's understandable. Maybe they're trying to address some of the issues people complained about in the first episode, to deliver a better game. And GOG's relationship with Revolution Software is that of a company. People need to start understanding companies are not individual people who go out for coffee together and keep the others posted on everything they do. It's likely Revolution gave GOG an estimate of when the second episode would be released and they used it. I never saw that January 31st as a definitive date of release. It always said it was an estimate date in there...
If people want to bitch this much, complain to Revolution, even though I don't think it's their fault, as well, for taking longer in order to deliver a better game, don't complain to GOG... and all this "I'm going to stop buying off of GOG" is childish, self-centered and, ultimately, a load of bullshit on your part. GOG has a great consumer service, I'd argue the best consumer service and support of any digital distributor, and they don't deserve to get this treatment for something that's beyond their control.
But, yeah, go ahead and pirate it, get the second episode off torrents. It's not like it will be available in there before it is in here, and having the game on GOG means you get support and a 30 day money back guarantee. Good luck getting that from a torrent. Sure, you paid nothing, but you're also risking downloading a buggy, fake version that'll break your computer.
I think that people are more annoyed about the fact that Revolution didn't bother to inform anyone about the delay than about the fact that making the second episode takes longer than they originally announced. Naturally (while it's not their fault) GOG takes some of the heat, because they sell the product.
And yes, piracy is bad mmmkay! And it's rather stupid to advertise of being a pirate in forums like these, where it doesn't gather much respect, because regulars here pay for their games.
