I'm wondering if there's any way to run the game with its original executable, I don't mind ScummVM at all. Since Broken Sword 1 runs perfectly fine on my computer, I'd like to keep the amount of intermediaries close to zero.
Since there's no executable in any of the directories, nor can I find a .inst (.cue) or .gog (.bin) files anywhere, I'm afraid I have to toss the ball to GOG.com team for this.
EDIT: I'm talking about Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror.

they said they make the games compatible with current os systems, so i suspect they took the files from the cd, make their own install setup using scummvm engine files, and dont include the original setup files or executables.
p.s. the virtual theater engine that broken sword runs on has some hardcoded coded in the exes, so the scummvm version needs a special file for it to work, so even if you got the original exe, i dont know if the files version would be the same.

ScummVM's version of the BS2 interpreter is a direct copy of the original code (minus the video compression, but with the new codec there's no difference in quality anymore), donated by Revolution... if anything, it contains more features :)

Exactly. ScummVM isn't an intermediary, it's an improved and reworked engine that completely replaces the original executable. In fact, ScummVM supports so many point 'n click games so well, it's one of the few things that should be installed on every gamers' computer.

Well I redownloaded the package, maybe I should reinstall it then. At least the videos work correctly now.
