Hey folks. I got this from The Official Broken Sword Page on Facebook. Thought I would share it with everyone. It regards the estimated release date.

UPDATE:

We are so excited about the forthcoming release of Episode 2. Our team have been working tirelessly the past few weeks to reach the point we are now at, and we are very close to completion. All the game assets are in place, script has been locked, and the game is currently being thoroughly tested.

As ever in this industry, there have been minor setbacks that require immediate attention. Due to this, we intend to release Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent's Curse Episode 2 for PC/Mac/Linux in the first half of April, as we feel it is worth taking a short while to really polish the game. We are certain that you will see the worthwhile effects of this decision.

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey so far. It's been a tumultuous but extremely enjoyable one. We really appreciate your patience while we put the finishing touches to your game.
We aren't gonna play this until July, are we?

It sounds like the game itself is finished, they are just fine-tuning it. AS long as they keep us posted, they can take as long as they need if it means the game will be the best it can possibly be.
cool so much adventure games coming in April! Broken sword 5 (not playing ep1 until ep2 is released) mobeus the new jane jensen game and it was even hinted that Tex Murphy: Tesla effect would be coming out in April also!
As much as I'm enjoying this game, I'm going to think twice before kickstarting anything in the future. Nostalgia can only go so far when one promise after another is broken (at least in regard to release dates).

I've learned to never see a release date as set in stone, even huge AAA titles miss them by up to a year sometimes, look at South Park The Stick of Truth and Watch Dogs.

For these kind of episodic and/or kickstarted games I say I pretty much expect them to miss their release date.

2 things to remember is that they will almost never Promise a release date, and if they do then they're just being foolish. They will always say "planned release date" or "Intended release date" like it does above.

Also people will forget a delay but nobody forgets a broken game. People have forgotten GTA5 was delayed by half a year, they don't forget how broken the online mode was however.

Yeah, Revolution is being forthright with us, so as long as I am kept in the loop, they can take as long as they need. Also, the only estimated release date that I saw directly from Revolution was the first quarter of 2014. GOG had their estimated release dates, but I don't know if I'd classify that as directly from Revolution. So, if Revolution does release the game by mid-April, they really aren't too far off from their original estimation. And the previous poster stated it perfectly….If episode 2 is great, nobody will remember if they released it late.
I've also been told by someone in-the-know that the game itself is essentially completed. Revolution is just going thru, touching up some graphical inconsisincties, fixing some dialogue, trying to snuff out all the bugs they can. I've also been told that the designers want to make the dialogue more natural-sounding….Meaning they want to eliminate those awkward pauses during dialogue and conversations. That tweak hopefully will be featured in the Episode 2 patch.
It reads on "My games" now: "This game will be available for download on approximately Apr. 30"

First it was end of January, then it was end of March and now it's end of April. It's getting silly, but luckily I'm a patient man, however I believe that some people will think twice before they buy episodic game again.

Well, at least they informed us this time about the delay. Last time it was almost impossible to find any information about the delay, unless you were a backer.

Yeah, I saw that new estimated release date too. We shall see, but all the information I've been told seems to indicate that Episode II will be released before that, ilk mid-April. But I could be wrong. And you are right about customers thinking twice about purchasing episodic games…or at least just waiting until the entire game is available. I'd imagine Revolution lost a lot of momentum and excitement over the release of BS5 due to the wait for part two. Seriously, this forum was buzzing in January and early February with people excited for Episode II. Now it's pretty quiet. I think that's the risk you run with releasing it too parts. Sometimes the customer may be better served by just being able to get the whole game at once. Can you imagine all the buzz the game would be generating if they didn't release Episode 1 in December and we are now all waiting for the full game to be released? It'd be crazy.

personally i never buy episodic games until all episodes are released, i played the Walking Dead and cognition: An Erica Reed thriller when all episodes were released and i dont think i would have enjoyed both games half as much if i had to wait between each episode. I know i'll be waiting until the end of the year for Walking Dead 2 but it will be worth it.
Let's not forget this wasn't even supposed to be an episodic game in the first place...

Yeah, I wonder if Revolution was under pressure from their distributors to release something, ANYTHING, around Christmastime. It's hard to speculate on that though. Or maybe they ran short of funds? I don't know, but in hindsight, I'm pretty sure Revolution would've preferred to release the entire game at once. I'd be curious to see the amount of people who play the second part. I think the game, and the wait between two parts, killed a lot of the game's momentum.

IIRC they had promised to backers to release something in 2013. And when it comes to playing the second part, I think it would be rather silly not to play it if you have finished the first part already, especially if you have already paid for it. Personally I'm fan of the series (I have played all four previous games and two remakes) and I want to see how the story ends.
I am going to play it. I'm also going to enjoy it :). I'm just saying that I will be more careful in what I kickstart and what I purchase on the actual release. I consider this to be a positive quality. I do think that people preorder too much and then become disillusioned with the product (SimCity etc.). But overall, I did enjoy Episode 1.
