When attempted to start Deadline, I receive the following error message:
Microsoft visual C++ runtime library
Runtime error!
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I've tried starting from the launcher and directly from the .exe with no luck.

OS : window 8.1
Game lang : french
Does a visual C++ redistributable come with the install? Probably a long shot, but maybe try running that then try launching the game?
A few minutes ago i downloaded and installed this game via Gog Galaxy and it works.
No change to start the game.
I try:
German install
english install
XP-Mode
Vista-mode
Change the resolutin
Everytime the same:
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Shit!

Sorry, my System is Win 7

No problem on Win 7 64bit here loaded the runtime and ran straight away.

I don`t know if this will work but you could try downloading the Runtime from MS and install yourself. Here`s the link:

I`m not guaranteeing it will work, but it`s just a logical idea.

I wonder what the difference is between a manual and a galaxy install?
Same as the rest of you.

Win7 x64 : C++ runtime error.

Thanks for the link to the RT's.

Did anyone else check the games logs?

It also is saying it can't find the sound / music files.
Similar issue here.
And for an additional datapoint, if you install it through galaxy while not uninstalling the non-Galaxy version, the non-Galaxy version not only works, but continues to work after uninstalling Galaxy. So the latter must be adding something to the system as a whole rather than anything about the Galaxy version in specific.
