I'm one of those who ordered the deluxe-version of Bombshell because of the FPS-prequel promised. Since the developer closed down shop and are still struggling with buying the IP back (just to roll out a promised update), will GOG offer refunds? Or is the prequel still expected to be delivered by somebody else?

The retro Build Engine FPS-prequel is apparently still under development under the title "Ion Maiden". The game's developer is Voidpoint so I have no idea how Interceptor Entertainment's bankruptcy will effect things. I'm sure GOG will make things right if need be.

Here an interesting thread from July:
Ion Maiden, a Build Engine-Powered FPS, Releasing 2017
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1404138

3D Realms posted a request for playtesters for a new Build Engine a few days ago on their Facebook page. I strongly suspect that is this game. That's a good sign. :)

Well, the prequel FPS is indeed Ion Maiden and the demo is now available to the Bombshell Digital Deluxe Edition owners.
And the demo is really good !
Are we only getting the demo or the full game down the line? I think the store page used to reference there being a "full" FPS game coming?
I'd buy Ion Maiden either way I guess, but if it'll be added to our accounts down the line, I'll hold off until then.
Only the preview build is free for Bombshell digital deluxe owners. The full version of Ion Maiden will still cost money.

I initially thought it was going to be the full game, but I checked on the internet archive and the first post I can see, from 31st Jan 2016, shows that it has indeed always only said the demo.

Alright, I guess I just confused things considering it's been two years since the game was released.
Seems like a neat game anyway, hope it doesn't take too long until it comes to GOG, it's listed in the Upcoming section at least, but with no estimated release date.

The Steam page says Q3 2018 for the full release.
Here is a preview video for Ion Maiden

I loved the demo and I hope the full version of Ion Maiden makes it. I also hope to see Update 1.3 since the Canyon level is *very* buggy! (I still love Bombshell).

The source of the confusion may be this image -- according to this Doomworld thread,
The game was quietly announced on a poster back in July 2015 as an extra for the digital deluxe version for Bombshell. Since then, however, the scope has expanded considerably and the game is a full commercial product.
The demo confuses the Galaxy client quite a bit: the artwork and so forth are in place but the client acts as though there's no Internet connection.

I haven't seen that particular image before, but, yeah, that are basically the marketing bullet points I remember, and yeah, I'm also getting the "no connection" error in GOG Galaxy. The game still plays fine though, but it would be sad if you couldn't have both the demo and the full game when it's released installed at the same time, considering they've said a lot of the assets in the demo won't be used in the final game.
