I wish this game had been in the dev cycle for a little longer, it's so close to "there" but not quite ah well...

Anyway... questions:

1: I'm on the initial Planet Eater stage and there's a force field that I can get Amiga through but not me. How do I get through?

2. I have 2/3 of the Drone Factories blown up but can't find the third for the life of me.

Issues/Comments:

1. The game doesn't explain some mechanics well at all, on the ice planet, they'd do something that would cause me to die immediately - never did figure that out.

2. Game seems to crash badly sometimes (I turned off the nVidia gameworks stuff to get past an earlier one).

3. You can control Amiga in places where I suspect you're not supposed to as I've had it fall through the world more than once.

4. The game should *really* warn you if you're leaving an area and side quests will not be able to be completed. Add to this the map doesn't show what circle ping is for what quest so you can't even 'avoid the primary' if you're a completionist (like me).

5. I read that this was originally going to be more integrated into Duke Nukem's universe. Clearly there are still references to it (even directly referencing Duke - although if he's ahead of me, why's anything still alive?) I think you guys should've made it more integrated, instead it feels kind of disjointed in the current state.

The final factory is far South were you found a GDF force field and could not cross through it (Your map should show indicators for all factories to blow). It's just West of that. Once you blow the last one this force field will drop and you can collect some goodies. :)

Yeah, I'm still confused as you on that one. :( I know that you do use Amiga to go up an elevator to press a button to raise 1 part of the bridge further ahead (one of the factories to blow up is past the bridge if I remember correctly or maybe it is just to collect a crystal).
I ended up having to reset the level the 3rd Drone factory wasn't working and another puzzle bugged out really bad.

For the forcefield, the second set to the North, the one on the right alternates between 2 and 4 beams, sneak amiga past it when it's on 2 beams and then you can use the switch to disable them. Shelly can then jump up the barrels and sneak into the area there. All there is though is some ammo and a challenge.

Sweet! Thanks for the Shelly/Barrel tip!

I found out some news about that crystal bug. The devs (check steam forums) are working on a new patch to fix that issue and several others but it may not be available for months. I also feel a bit betrayed by these issues because once this new patch comes out the game is supposed to be ready for "consoles". This means PC users paid top dollar for an "Early Release" game that was beta/alpha tested by "PC gamers" so they could fix their problems and then clean it up with a nice bow on it and sell it to the console masses now being a lot more bug free. That's a very dirty deal for PC gamers.
Bugs happen, I'm a programmer myself (not games though). The fact that they're fixing bugs is a good thing.

With consoles it's a bigger deal than PC because they have to pay huge fees to do patches there.

I did finish the game today; it's okay. I kinda wish they had worked on it a bit more, the story jumps between serious and comedy and back again. Some of the non-main character voice acting is awful and I think the overall gameplay needs some work.
