For some reason, I am getting low FPS in Bloodrayne 1 whenever I am looking around at eye level or higher. Game runs fine when I look at the ground, but goes down to ~15-20 FPS when the environment is visible. I suspect it's got to do with either the fog or the lighting, and it's significantly worse when vampire vision is on.
I have a modern machine so obviously it's not a hardware issue. I assume an i7, a gtx 660, and 8gb RAM should be running this game fine. Still, I tried turning down the graphics but the frame drops are still there. Anyone have a solution? I run the game on Windows 8.1 in Win 98/ME compatibility mode and have syncRetrace=1 in the render.ini
