I have a problem and a question:
I own this game on Steam (NO please, do not discard this topic, I know this is not the Steam forum, go ask there, I've already done that), it was one of my old time favorites when I was a kid and I remember that I played for a little while with my steam account, something like 2 to 3 years ago on Windows 7 x64. Now I want to play it again, but with great horro it appears not to be compatible with Windows 8.1 x64, it keeps crashing right after the first little window of configuration giving a generic "application stopped working" or DirectX error 8876086c (if I try compatibility modes or if I force it on single core).
Now I ask you: if I'll buy the gog version of this game, is Windows 8.1 compatible at 100%? I really don't want to get a headhache trying to fix some compatibilty issues that cannot be fixed.
Have anyone here ever had any problems with Windows 8.1 and this game?
My specs:
MOBO: P8P67
CPU: i7 2600
GPU: GTX 670
RAM: 8GB
