I can't seem to get BloodRayne (the first one) working on Windows 7 64-bit. The configuration screen seems to work, but after selecting "Play" the game crashes regardless of chosen settings. I'm getting the same errors with both the integrated (Intel) and the dedicated GPU (NVidia).

If I pick the DX8 renderer I get:

---------------------------
DirectX8 3D Driver error
---------------------------
Cannot create hardware vertex processing device. Please check with your hardware manufacturer to make sure that your video card indeed has hardware vertex processing.

If I go for the OpenGL one, Windows detects that the executable is not responding and spits out:

Any ideas?

EDIT: Just noticed that the game works fine on my laptop display and crashes only when I've got my computer hooked up to an HDMI display (single monitor mode). I'd still prefer to play the game on my external monitor however...

Have you tried installing DirectX?

I have the same problem. Everytime I start the game it runs smoothly until I get to the main menu, where it crashes. The weird thing is that sometimes I manage to get it to work, but I don't know what else should I try to make it work permanently.

Any suggestions please?
