Where is the original music from the game? I actually had the One whole unit blood orginal CD and the music is NOT the same! Here is what I meen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CupiCPMQmcw THIS is the orginal soundtrack.

The music in that youtube video is the Build engine playing a midi file. The Blood CD also has audio tracks that Build will play when the CD-ROM is in the CD drive (if you have it setup correctly). GoG included the audo tracks from the CD as OGG files which DOSBox is preconfigured to play, as CD audio tracks, when you launch the GoG Blood distro.

If you prefer the Blood midi tracks to play when you are playing, reconfigure the dosboxBlood.conf so that it doesn't mount the CUE sheet, but mounts the ISO directly.
On line 192, near the bottom,
change: imgmount D game.inst -t iso
to: imgmount D game.gog -t iso

Go paint the town red.

Ouch! Not sure what could be causing that. It works fine here, tho I have upgraded to DOSBox 0.74. GoG included DOSBox 0.73 with Blood. You might try upgrading.

Download and Install DOSBox to it's default location
copy the %programfiles%\DOSBox-0.74\ folder into your ..\GoG\One Unit Whole Blood\ folder
rename your old DOSBox folder to something like DOSBox-0.73
rename DOSBox-0.74 to DOSBox

Thanks, but still the same even with newest DOSbox. I don't understand why this happends. I can pick up weapons, move around.. but when a cultist (?) spot me.. boom crash to desktop. I use windows XP SP2or3 or the newest atleast.
If I could only find me original blood CD, can I ask how you guys play multiplayer online?

EDIT: I can only guess, there must be a conflict somewhere. Because when I turn off sound & music in setup blood runs fine. When I turn on sound only (like the sound of weapons, caleb, enemies, ect) I still get music and the game crashes. You know?

SP3 is the latest XP service pack, tho there are about 72 additional updates from Microsoft for a fresh install of XP

DOSBox is the easiest way to play Blood online; and it's the only way I've been able to play it online after the days of Windows98 & Kali.

It's possible that you have some conflicting settings between DOSBox, Blood's Setup.exe, and Blood.exe. For some reason GoG included separate config files for Setup.exe, Blood.exe and cryptic.exe, so each time you launch form the desktop shortcuts it references a different file.

First Step:
Uninstall Blood and install a fresh download of GoG:Blood, just to clear out any random odd settings that may have accumulated.

If that fixes it, you could still try upgrading to DOSBox 0.74, you will get slightly better frame rates anyway.

Second:
If the fresh install and upgrade to 0.74 doesn't help, you might try configuring the sound setup through editing the dosbox*.conf files and Blood's Blood.cfg file. But that's a little more involved. Try reinstalling first.

In dosboxBlood.conf, there is a section called "sblaster". Below it are variables that partain to how DOSBox emulates a soundblaster audio card. sbbase, irq, dma, and hdma can all be changed, but you will also need to reference what you've changed them to in Blood.cfg
for instance, these are the corrosponding lines I have in dosboxBlood.cfg, and Blood.cfg

If you launch setup.exe, under sound setup, you will be able to find the limits of each of the settings.

DOSBox
sbtype=sb16
sbbase=220
irq=5
dma=1
hdma=5
sbmixer=true
oplmode=auto
oplemu=default
oplrate=22050

Blood.cfg
BlasterAddress = 0x220
BlasterType = 6
BlasterInterrupt = 5
BlasterDma8 = 1
BlasterDma16 = 5

The following equate to each other:
sbbase is BlasterAddress
irq is BlasterInterrupt
dma is BlasterDma8
hdma is BlasterDma16

Try changing the IRQ to 7 in both instances and see if that helps.

I changed the graphic mode from : overlay to surface and now I can play with the original music and no crash.

Now if only there was 300.000+ players playing multiplayer online I'd be a happy man ;-)

Monkeying around with the graphic settings, doesn't sound related at all... I'll have to remember that next time some one asks. Ah the miseries of DOSBox! I'm glad you found a fix!

Thank you so MUCH! One of the reasons I absolutely adore this game is the killing music. When I heard the One Unit version I was disappointed but now I got it back - and so far so good, hasn't crashed. Only the music is too loud, but hey...

What makes me furious is that I cant turn off the music. Especially in Dark Carnival. I just dont like this music. I want to hear only sounds because they make me creepy. I turn off the music in game and setup but it gives nothing

You can edit your Blood.ini file to get rid of both the CD and midi music, if you can't disable music through other means. Round about line 187, under the e1m4 section, just comment out the lines that start with Song and Track with a semi-colon.

Title = Dark Carnival
Author = Kevin Kilstrom & James Wilson
;Song = cblood4
;Track = 4

If you wan to get rid of it everywhere, just do a "find/replace all" and comment it all out at once.

the Midi music is awesome in blood (CD one sucks imo )

Personally i got no idea why would anyone turn the music of hehe

Blood has epic soundtracks and its epic game hehe

however u can get midi if you delete some file in the folder heh...(just saying)
