As I reached the condemned tenements in Blood, I have a lot of problems where "the game has encountered a fatal error and needs to close. It takes me out of the game, displays this message and gives me the option to send an error report or not... any thoughts on how to fix this? I'd really like to proceed in Blood 2 passed the condemned tenements, but the gameplay is not being very reliable. This is my only GOG game to do this to me, I have windows XP media center edition 2005, if that presents any clues to what my problem might be. Thank you all for any help.

I'm assuming this is in Blood 2?

I had a similar problem on the addon pack where every time I got to a specific point it crashed. I ended up making a copy of my save file, and re-downloading and installing Blood 2., then putting my save back in.

A bit of a ball-ache, but it let me progress.

Blood 2 is notoriously buggy.
It's not Blood 2's fault. It's the engine it runs on. It's really broken.

Fair comment. I've been putting off playing Shogo. Then again, I never had problems with NOLF.
They managed to iron out the worst bugs in NOLF thankfully. Love that game
Shogo thankfully has fewer bugs, but yeah, Blood II is a tad error prone. Lithtech was a bit unstable. In fact, its successor, Lithtech 3 was so unstable that a Shogo sequel project was scrapped.
Isn't FEAR and Condemned based on the Lithtech 3?

NO. It's Lithtech Jupiter Extended, completely different rewritten from the basics generation. FEAR 2 and Condemned 2 are using the same generation like first ones - Jupiter Extended but heavily modified.

At least they knew how to to make different generations of the same engine, either modify or rewrite, partially or complete, while these shameless dudes behind COD using same stufff "tried and true" technology with little or no modifications to it, without learning and trying anything new.

Ah yes, Jupiter Extended.. It was also called Lithtech JE someplaces...
I'm sad nobody seems to know who has the NOLF rights (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/04/09/no-one-lives-forever-rights-nowhere-to-be-found/). Perhaps someone should reissue it, see who sues and then pester them to do NOLF3.
@killerkreig:

You weren't passing through a door when it crashed were you? At the top of a stair case?

@ Ghostbreed:

=[ Okaay... but just because I haven't posted in like a year.

Lithtech 1.0
Shogo MAD
Blood2

Lithtech 1.5 (almost bug free)
Kiss Psycho Circus
A bunch of Valuesoft ww2/Vietnam combat shooters

Lithtech 2.0
Akin's Artifact
Some free real arcade games, bubble pop, Big battle bot robo...something or other.
Lithtech's only open source engine- lost and gone forever

Lithtech 2.5
Alien vs. Preditor 2 (talon engine for consoles)
No one Lives Forever

Lithtech 3.0 Jupiter
No One Lives Forever2
Contract jack
Tron (might be lithtech 2.5)

Jupiter EX
F.E.A.R.

...And others you probably know more about than I do. The above list contains many errors, but rest assured that has nothing to do with my foggy memory and has everything to do with keeping the thread going.
Someone has done their homework
