Solution: Right click on Blood 2 icon select properties.

In target box place: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C START "Blood 2" /high /affinity 1 "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Blood II\BLOOD2.EXE"

Click Apply

Run Blood 2 at 1280 X 960 or 1024 X 768 or lower.

Do not run Blood 2 at higher resolutions it usually causes the game to crash.

The Blood 2 icon on desktop may change, to fix this right click on icon select properties. Select Change Icon.

This is very sad, sorry. If you can't run a game this old, or you do but have fps problems and crashes, you desperately need an upgrade. My game has never crashed before and my fps is never anywhere below 60 ( wish I can make it higher, but maxfps command only works up to 60). I play this game on my normal desktop resolution (1366x768) just fine with everything checked in the Advanced tab. My fan doesn't even turn on and my CPU usage stays around 7-12% when playing.

What's your OS?

Me too. Did you ever play my Blood 2 mod?
Here is something you can try, it reduced crashing for me by a lot. Rarely does it now.

If you have more than one core, create a batch file in the game folder with the commands

@echo off
cd "<game path here>\Blood II"
start /affinity 1 BLOOD2.exe
exit

You can now create a shortcut to the desktop with the batch file. This forces it to run with one core.

Next, change the compatability settings for Blood2.exe, Client.exe and Blood2Sv.exe to the following:

Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
Disable visual themes
Run as administrator (if you have UAC enabled)

After that, launch Blood2, and click on the advanced button. Uncheck every option, then click display, and try running the game at your native resolution. If it fails to work try 640x480 or 800x600.

The game works 90% flawlessly for me, Windows 7 64-Bit, ATi 6770.

Yeah, turns out I had already played that. No new levels so wasn't too interested but nice job sharpening the textures up and I like what you did with some of the guns.

OR you could just get a program like Set Affinity II,add Blood 2's Exe files to your favorites and set it to core 0 from there, which is permanent.
I'm trying all the stuff in this thread and it's still crashing at launch. No matter my settings, the moment I launch it I get a notification saying that Client MFC has stopped working.

So far, I've disabled all advanced graphics options, tried a lower resolution, XP compatibility mode and all it's options, and single core affinity. Haven't even seen the main menu yet.
NVM... maxfps 60 sorted my issues ... for now! hehe

Ok, for me, typing maxfps 60 fixed these afformentioned problems, i apologize for my clear frustration... but damn, wasn't expecting such a wtf moment upon playing the game lol

Launched in 1400x900 worked fine, all advanced stuff is still turned on, compatibility is winXP/SP2 of course

let you guys know if i run into any further issues down the road, cheers!
