Guzz never released any source for Darkact. I think he planned to, but he got a virus on his machine way back when and lost a majority of his work. Sucks too because at the time he was about to start working on a better anti cheat REZ for multiplayer servers. Darkact had a form of anti cheat built in already but people were already getting around it. I wish I knew what happened to him, his email has not worked in a long time :(

I think I found his facebook page and I tried to contact him there but no responce yet. Thanks for the heads up on his where abouts. Let me know what you think about version 4.

Okay, I'm mixing up my blood2 mods again but wasn't it CTF Bastard (Rust?) that had some dll changes to the mod? It had smaller particles for blood sprays but allowed enemies to bleed much longer. Also, the orb would attach to the models at the groin level instead of the head. If Rust or the modder involved had the source it might come in handy. I hope i'm not confusing it with "Festival of Blood".

All I want from Darkact is the code for those damage skins. They're so nice.

Sounds like a good idea but I cant help but remember a phrase my dad used to tell me, quote "as you get older you will realize that 95% of people in the world are complete idiots"

With this in mind, the idea will never work.

That's the exact kind of thinking that will keep this from working. Never mind the idiots. There are more people out there with a good head on their shoulders. It will work.

Download the FXEnhancer mod and it will have a step by step readme on how to compile the source. And yes, I am using Visual C Studio V6.

Confound the evil internets! the version of FXE at moddb doesn't have any read me file on the source, In fact it doesn't have DLL files, just sounds and skins. I'll have to track dow. the right version. Somewhere.

Aye dusty, that'd be the one. Not good having several different versions of the rez all over the place. You and I could have played through very different versions of the same rez and have totally different experiences.

That's odd. I think ModDB was where I got the FXEnhancer mod. Maybe it was filefront. That does suck though.
