Everytime I try to start a new game on any difficulty/mode the game has a ClientMFC error and crashes to desktop. I could never get my disc copies of Chosen or Nightmare Levels to run 100% so I was hoping that the GoG version would've been better optimized for modern OSs like Messiah was. Guess not. I'm running XP with a 8800GTX with current drivers and I tried doing the 11a8 gl extension fix with Nhancer that worked for Kingpin but no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd love to finally play these games in 1920x1080.

Maybe you need some patches to get here:
http://m0003.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_blood_2.shtml
I own both crystal's too and have no prob by installing chosen with upgrade to version 224 and with the nocd patch for 224
and afterwards installing nightmares with the nocd patch 1.233 also to get there.
Every patch has to come in his time by installing both.

On my system, it seems to be related to resolution.
Although I can select up to 1680 x 1024, I was only able to launch the game successfully when I lowered to 1024 x 768.
I'm running Vista 64
Nvidia 280, with latest drivers.

Amplifire: Maybe you need some patches to get here:

Both The Chosen and The Nightmare Levels in the GOG deal are updated with the latest patches.

Try my post at the bottom of this topic. Good luck!
Just a quick update.
The program has gotten much more stable on my i7 quad core under Vista 64 since I did the following:
Patched the blood2.exe with imagecfg, to set CPU affinity to the first core.
Added +MaxFPS 60 to the command line, which fixed an annoying flicker I was seeing.
Since then, I can now launch, load and save single player at 1600 x 900 resolution without the "Nightmare Addon' box checked in the launcher. I have not tried it with the box checked.

I was able to get it it up and running by setting it to 256 colors in compatibility in windows 95.
