I seem to have some problem with Verok's (full) patch.
The vanilla GOG version works fine for me out of the box (even if it obviously runs in a lower framerate, just like the original PC version). This is a Windows 10 Pro laptop where I am playing the game.
I copied the Verok's patch files over the installation, and something is wrong with the controls when I start a new game.
First of all, I can move only downwards in the menu, with the down arrow. Up arrow does not work, I am pretty sure it did work in menus before. I can still luckily navigate in the menus, but I have to cycle through it downwards, if I want to go to the upper menu items.
When I started the game itself though, the character constantly goes up-left all the time, even if I am not touching any controls. Pushing down or right arrow stop the character, but does not move it, so I am stuck in the tavern. I don't have any gamepad connected so that shouldn't affect it.
I will try if the control config within the game says anything, but with the vanilla version I didn't have to touch the controls at all. Anyone else seen this issue?
EDIT: I checked the ingame control config and it didn't offer any explanation... So right now the Verok's patch is unplayable for me.
EDIT2: I confirmed the vanilla GOG version does not have these issues, by uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game (in order to get rid of the Verok's patch files).
EDIT3: I wrote the same question to the Verok comments section, in case someone else there knows.
