this game iss soo really hard i cant too live long on this game. but in wofenstein 3d is hard too but this game is harder.

why is it so hard on easy and on very hard on wolfenstein 3d i did complet that game in on harders diffuculty but this game i cant ;( on easy i see it hard also
I don't know, I found it hard too when I first played it despite finishing Wolf3D on "I'm Death incarnated", but I guess it's because the developers wanted to provide a bigger challenge to the player used to play games like wolf3D.

Strafe + shoot and gather as much resources as you can (including interacting with informants) and you migth have a bit less trouble.

did also beat wolf 3d all episode on I'm Death incarnated. But this game is soo really hard that it impossple too do it
it was really aimed to be an more involved game than wolf 3d. wolf 3d was basically just killing nazis, finding keys, finding push-walls. Blake Stone had switches that would lower barriers on other floors, random Friendly NPC's that lowered your score for killing. and an primitive hub system. JAM had to deal with id putting out doom with an more advanced engine. jam added game play ROTT took some of the stone game play and added more doom style game play.

Don't forget to get credits and health from scientists and vending machines.
The shotgun guard is brutally hard at times, but other than that, this game is not hard. Save often.
The game is definitely pretty difficult, however there's one big advantage the player has, and that's being able to backtrack to any previous level in the episode to get any leftover supplies and use non-broken vending machines.

Easier said than done imho but that's what I always did and it works ;)
The biggest difference is enemies don't flinch when shot so you can't prevent them from firing by shooting them like you can in Wolf 3D. Fight everyone at range because if you fight close up your health will drop very quickly. It's not really harder than Wolf 3D, you just need to be a lot more careful going around corners.
Charging into a room with plasma alien spawners to get the treasure and get out again is the worst.

Yeah, I love Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold, enough to play through the whole game on Expert mode, but it's a big problem that those wall outlet rooms are so difficult that the rest of the game feels trivial by comparison. They did the right thing in Planet Strike by putting those rooms in secret levels only.

This doesn't make sense to me. I have died many, many times in Blake Stone, but never once have I used up all of a level's healing supplies. The game throws you so many healing supplies that the only way you could use all of them is by repeatedly letting enemies attack you without shooting back. In other words, long before you take enough damage to exhaust a level's healing supplies, you're dead.

I heavily agree. Not a game for the weak of heart. My only personal flaw with this one is (back in those days) getting that czech "Bad Toys 3D" game instead of this gem. My strategy was always hitting the up key very cautiously tbf. Really that's the only tip I can personally give. Gave two effings "fs" about hidden areas, though.
I admit mastering Blake Stone after tons of effort made out of countless hours during lunch break -on the worst keyboard I've ever ever used. Well I kinda...if I'm not wrong... never used a save state to be fair. Only for continuing the game later on. Frenetic fps. I died like two billion times.. and that music stuck in your head won't help much.

GUAAAAARD!! ;P

good luck to ya (and yes I kinda wanna play it again now after like 10yrs?)
Sorry to necro but yeah, this game can be hard. I'm doing a 100% playthrough on Veteran difficulty. Episodes 1-3 were fine, challenging at times, but fine. Episode 4, right off the bat ups the ante, I keep running out of ammo and am constantly in red health: STAR Troopers, Mutant Guards, and Plasma Aliens spawners are numerous. What's even worse is the devs putting civvies next to them, so you can't use the Plasma Discharge Unit to quickly clear the room. >.<
