How do I get to the secret levels? Is there a hidden key that will open a secret button on the elevator panel? Is there a teleporter that will take me there?
Also, I'm having some difficulty with getting 100% on levels I know to have all secret areas opened (verified with maps found on VGMapper). For example on M1F2, I've opened all the secret areas, made sure I collected all treasure (keeping in mind that to collect an item I have to be facing it when walking over it, which was a nuisance with Wolf3D as well), and whaled on Dr. Goldfire until he stopped teleporting in to attack me. My percentages, as they are on this level, are 90%/100%/86% (Total Points/Informants Alive/Enemy Destroyed). Does anyone have an idea what I might be missing?
[EDIT]
Well, I found out that what I'd previously believed to be water heaters are actually cryogenic storage tanks. That would make sense, given the almost complete lack of faucets, sinks, wash basins, and showers. That and no floor needs two dozen water heaters, no matter how filthy the inhabitants are. I just wish the sprite designer had thought to make it look less like a scenery prop and more like something that had a monster in it. Maybe make the window a little larger, with a face in it.
