Hello!

Im delighted with the recent Blade Runner release here in GOG. Already played the game through, and Im happy that I have this all time gem in my gamecollection.

Now to my question. Is there a possibilty to modify the resolution in this game? I used it on my Full-HD 27inch monitor and the 4:3 ratio is ok but the graphics looks too teared up in my opinion.

I saw playthroughs and the video from GOG titled "Blade Runner- intro" and it has much smoother looking graphics.

Is there a way to optimize it with ScummV or some other way?

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

The game's resolution is 640x480 and that cannot change, not to produce more crisp visuals anyway.
Could you try this setting (filtering=true) in the configuration file to see if it improves the graphics for you?

Thank you! I tried it and the graphics are smoother now and overall a little bit better to look at.

Anyhow I guess there must be a way to run the game in windows mode with the posibility to vary the seize of it so that the unchangeable resolution of 640X480 looks better.

640X480 on a 27inch monitor is just too few dots on such a big space and as a logical consecuence the image looks teared up.

I remember I played the game back in 1997 on a 17inch monitor.

If you want to stretch it, launch the game, then press "ctrl-F5" and return to the launcher. Select the first one Blade Runner (WITHOUT the restored content) edit game, go to the graphics tab, select override, and then check fullscreen, and also select "stretch to window" under stretch mode.

After this, quit out and REBOOT (b/c scummvm and GoG will hang for some reason after this).

Once you reboot, everything should be normal.

Note: You can manually end the frozen tasks to avoid rebooting, but I just recommend rebooting.

edit: That filter option you edited earlier should also be under the graphics tab at the bottom ("Filter Graphics")! So you can enable it and disable it more safely here. I tried it while stretched and prefer it off when stretched, but that's just my opinion, see what you think.
