I played until I met the cook in the china restaurant now and first of all I wondered why I have this new fourth location. I checked my inventory and clues and suddenly there is candy and a wrapping of chopsticks. I never picked those up. Stumped like I was I checked a walkthrough for those two things and it seems they should be at Lucys desk at Runciters. For me there was only a toy dog. I reloaded an old savestate and checked Runciters again. No candy and no wrapping. And no I am not sure if I should play any further if there are bugs like this. Or are there? The objects not being there could somehow be explained by the passing time in game. But objects randomly appearing in my inventory is strange, or is it?

When you upload/download from the mainframe at the police station, you sometimes download clues found by other Blade Runners.
Yes, I confirm that Steele is doing this occasionally. She is wandering around, collecting the clues and then uploading them to the mainframe. It's rare and it's happening only in the begining of the game as these are remains of some previous game design where McCoy and Steele were competing to solve crimes (& beat the game).
Yes, it seems that it could be a clue that Steele uploaded in the mainframe and then your McCoy picked it up when he synched his KIA with the Mainframe at the Police Station.

In such a case, in the view with all the clues in the KIA ("magnifying glass" tab), clicking on these clues will show "Steele" as its Source (down right)

Is this documented somewhere or a part of an interview? I'm interested to know more about this early design plan.
I do have some info gathered of my own, but anything new about the game's design is always valuable for the restoration process.

Thank you guys. That kinda makes sense. Weird design choice though. Also that I never had a chance to pick those items up myself. I am pretty sure that they never been there the first time I visited the place. I will test it and start a new game because I am just like an hour into it.
