Or just when everything has been done for a day? I'm a bit afraid I'm skipping ahead and missing stuff here.

Clicking on the bed will not advance time nor skip ahead. Not in the sense that can cause events to become unavailable. You won't miss anything if McCoy takes a nap.
Thx!
With that said, certain scene(s) require you to sleep to trigger them.

In the vanilla game it really is just... the one time and a few characters in the game will explicitly tell you to "go home and get some rest".

I have some "plans" for the final Restored Content version :)

You seem to act like what I say is incorrect (this has happened more than once), when I have ensured my language is accurate! I made sure to put that (s) to cover my bases, yet to no avail. The other time I said unsupported (which it technically is) and you then tried to correct this by chaning to a different definition of supported. I also remember suggesting someone use the in game scummvm interface to change something instead of the .ini file, and you took exception to that too! It kind of 'seems' like anything that you think, you think it's the best way, and I disagree with that attitude, as anyone else should imo. I am not suggesting you change your posting habits, but I wanted to put this observation out there.

What exactly are you planning for the restored content in relation to sleep? This sounds interesting!

I am sorry you feel that way. I am only trying to help and if anything add to what someone is saying or clarify something further rather than invalidate it.

But I don't really remember these times you mention that I acted like what you are saying is incorrect. I am not asking you to remind me of specifics. All I am saying is that it wasn't aimed to be personal.

I do know a bit about the game's mechanics and design since I've spent a bit more than a couple of years looking into the code with the rest of the ScummVM team who's been working on it, fixing bugs and restoring stuff. But even so, I don't claim to know everything about it. I am still discovering stuff I don't know or missed, and I, as anyone else, could post incomplete, inaccurate or wrong answers, or answers that could be further clarified.

The intend of my posting is to help out here and I do enjoy writing in this particular forum. This is for me one of the perks of being a developer on the Blade Runner ScummVM engine.

We work on our free time, voluntarily, expecting no monetary compensation and the goal is to share and keep supporting the best possible version of the game(s) on multiple platforms. Reading and especially taking part in any discussion, question, even bug reports and critical feedback is energizing and motivating for us, or for me in particular.

And I won't lie. Times have been hard, coding burn-out, personal issues, job hunting and now lock-down be damned and I need the break.

I do also want to show people that we are still active in supporting the game and still keep coding and improving it (albeit not as frequently as before the 2.1.0 ScummVM release) and don't have any plans to stop or abandon it as "good enough".

Thus, I may write something that seems redundant to what you wrote, but that's due to enthusiasm and not any personal issue with your posting. Again, I don't have anything against with what you post and I didn't intend to upset you, which I apparently did anyway. So for what is worth sorry about that.

Anyway, my plans for the Restored Content is to have the sleep time heal McCoy, in addition to other stuff like purchasing a meal. If I recall correctly the game already does something similar in the background at specific checkpoints (the start of some Acts) but it would give McCoy an extra motive to visit home more often (and see Maggie or happen upon... someone on the elevator / ground floor). It's just a plan as of yet, though.

Ah yes "I am sorry you feel that way" The battle cry of those who think they are right. You can't invalidate what is accurate just by pretending like it isn't!

With that said, your apology later sounds genuine, but no apology is needed. You didn't do anything wrong, I was making an obvervation.

It's not about being redundant, it's about directly contradicting me through a quote when I was accurate.

You clearly can't see my POV on this which is fine, but it still doesn't make what I said inaccurate, you can't change the facts.

I for one certainly appreciate the work you (and others, of course) have put in, so please don't see this as a post implying otherwise. Without your work, this awesome game might not playable by the masses, so you have done a great thing for gaming posterity, as well as me personally, as this is one of my favorite adventure games. That is much appreciated!

Your ideas for restored content sound great, I wish you luck on those and look forward to playing it!
